The new Honda Pilot is everything you would hope from a update model – sleeker design, increased miles per gallon, more horsepower and torque and a spacious third row that benefits from the three and half inch additional length. The new model ranges from the base LX model with a manufacture suggested retail price of $29,995^{[ 1 ]} to the Elite model with an MSRP of $46,420^{[ 1 ]}. The 2016 Pilot is rated at 27^{[ 7 ]} highway miles per gallon and 19^{[ 7 ]} city miles per gallon; an increase from the 2015’s 25^{[ 7 ]} highway miles per gallon and 17^{[ 7 ]} city miles per gallon. The Touring and Elite models are even more efficient offering 28^{[ 7 ]} highway miles per gallon and 20^{[ 7 ]} city miles per gallon. This increase is due to a combination of the new 3.5-liter i-VTEC V-6 direct-injected engine. This new engine offers variable cylinder management with cylinder deactivation technology and employs Earth Dreams technology and a change from 5 speed automatic transmission to a 6 speed automatic transmission in the LX, EX and EX-L models and a 9 speed automatic transmission in the Touring and Elite models. The five models and options within them, offer many more customization feature than previous models including; programmable remote entry, idle stop, lane watch, adaptive cruise control and acoustic glass. All models include a 4.2 inch color LCD screen multi-information display, an additional 5 or 8 inch LCD multimedia display, Bluetooth capabilities, MP3 capabilities, integrated USB charging, a 60/40 flat-folding 3rd-row bench seat, and rear privacy glass.
