Honda Civic Turbo Get a Manual Transmission

Some long-awaited news has arrived for drivers who enjoy having not two but three pedals on the floor. Buyers of the Honda Civic will have the choice of a 6-speed manual transmission beginning in the fall of 2016. In both the 2016 Honda Civic sedan and 2016 Honda Civic coupe, the stick shift will be an option sometime later this year. These rollouts will be the first time Honda has offered the engine on models other than the SI. And the 1.5-liter engine sure is turbo-charged, with 174 horsepower and 162 lb-ft of torque. The 2016 Honda Civic also has exceptional fuel efficiency, with 42 mpg highway, 31 mpg city and 35 mpg combined. The power and control are just two of the features in the loaded Honda Civic. The 2016 Civic is completely redesigned, with a new shape, four more inches of length, new front and rear ends, new taillights and roofline that more resembles a coupe than the sedan, The interior is outfitted with higher quality materials and more room, particularly in the rear seats. 

Safety features

Keeping you and your passengers is a top priority for Honda. All the Civic models include multi-angle rearview mirrors and brake assist. Forward collision warning, lane departure warning, collision mitigation braking, road departure mitigation, lane keeping assist and adaptive cruise control systems are available (standard on the Touring). On EX and higher models, Honda’s LaneWatch system, gives drivers a wider view when turning right or otherwise when the system, is engaged. With LaneWatch, the driver can see 1-2 lanes to the right and cars as much as 50 yards behind yours.

Plugging in

Taking care of business and entertainment safely is a breeze when driving the 2016 Honda Civic, which comes with MP3/Windows Media audio system, Bluetooth streaming audio and hands-free features, and sound control that adjusts based on how fast you’re driving. In the EX and higher models, the Civic has text messaging capability, is compatible with Pandora song streaming and HondaLink, which connects your mobile phone and gives you easy access to your music, contacts, messages and social media services. Models feature either a 5- or 7-inch display screen, with the latter including electrostatic touch controls and customizable settings.

Convenience in mind

Sometimes it’s the little things that matter, giving you comfort and convenience whether traveling across town or across the country. All Civic models come with capless gas tanks, rear-seat heater ducts, rear window defroster with timer, cruise control and power door locks. In the EX and higher models, enjoy push button start, compass, rear-seat center arm rest and illuminated vanity mirrors.
